Caloric Intake Matters – Even Small Amount of Calories in a Banana

In the United States these days, it has been reported that nearly 60% of adults are overweight or obese. It is shocking to consider that six in ten people are overweight or obese and that number has been increasing some each year. Simple changes in lifestyle such as low calorie alcoholic drinks and using protein shakre recipes could really help. These adults might exercise one day a week or not at all. They are also less likely to have eaten servings of fruits and vegetables as well. With our “Mcdonaldized” society it is easy to understand how people can eat extra calories that they simply do not need. But to overindulge is a common occurrence and discipline is a virtue that unfortunately a lot of Americans currently lack.
Counting the calories of the food that one eats can be a daunting task. But creating a food diary to help remember what one is eating along with recording this information can play a big role in helping to start weight loss. By recording what is eaten each day creates a viewable record of the food that one is putting in one’s body. This diary helps to create a sense of accountability. Now each person automatically burns so many calories a day from their typical daily activities. To create weight loss, simply a deficit of calories needs to be created. Now, the catch is that creating an extreme calorie deficit will cause the body to start storing food as fat and slowing down the metabolism because it fears starvation. A good way to achieve this is to count all of your calories – even calories in a banana. One wants to still eat a decent amount of food but have a cheat day each week. On this day one can eat anything one wants and this helps to keep one’s metabolism from not slow down and going into fat storage mode.

I’ve had several gym memberships over the years, but since I had kids I haven’t really been able to take advantage of them. I’m just always either at work or running around and taking them to school or sports practices. It really ties up my time, so I just try and come up with creative ways to get a good workout at home instead.
I have an elliptical and that’s mainly what I use when I work out. But I’ve grown tired of just doing that lately so I decided to look up some ways I could switch up my workout easily with my satellitestarinternet.com/. Then I got the idea to start jumping rope every now and then.
Now, I don’t think that I will jump rope for 30 straight minutes every day, but I definitely want to change it up some and jump rope a little bit every now and then. I just like the way that incorporating new stuff into you workout reminds you about all those muscles you’ve forgotten over the years and give you that good sore feeling when you wake up in the morning.

Each year millions of people in America and around the world struggle with obesity. Health and fitness is important to the body. Keeping the body in good shape does not only keep the weight off, but also help to make you feel more energized and focused. There are certain things that you can do to keep focused and motivated during your health and fitness routine.

Use a variety of exercise moves and equipment to keep your workout interesting. This will help to make it fun, as well as help to make the muscles adapt to the exercise much quicker. You don’t have to set a routine for the same time each day. This can quickly become boring, leading to lack of interest. Instead, be spontaneous each day, do your exercise at various times of the day, and anywhere that pleases you.
Set a short-term goal that you know is attainable. As you work towards your goal, you will feel motivated with each small goal met. Use your achievements as a reinforcement for your health and fitness long-term goals. Keeping fit and healthy don’t have to be a boring chore. Why not invite some of your friends and family to join in the fun! Working with others can sometimes be beneficial for some people. Challenge yourself to go further, but don’t be disappointed if don’t see success at a fast rate. Your hard work will eventually pay off as you continue to eat healthy and exercise. Keep in mind that some people see results much faster than others.
Easy Steps to Health and Fitness

Over the years I have continually heard of a fitness program that is comprised of 8 simple principles. Although knowing of them I have never specifically looked to see if I was actually regularly following these 8 principles. Finally I took the plunge and made my new years resolution to calculate out each week my progress in these principles.

The 8 principles are encapsulated in the words N.E.W. S.T.A.R.T. outlined below.
Nutrition (4-5 servings of fruits and vegetables each a day)
Exercise (30 minutes of exercise a day)
Water (8-10 glasses of water a day)
Sun Shine (20-40 minutes of direct sunlight a day)
Temperance (denying self of bad things and having self control each day)
Air (3 deep breathing exercises a day) Consists of breathing in deeply, holding it 5-10 seconds, then out 10 times.
Rest (7-9 hours each day)
Trust in God (Devotions such as prayer and bible readings throughout the day)
So here is what I did. I calculated out each principle 1-100% based on how well I did to get the recommend amount listed. For example if I drank 4 or 5 glasses of water I would give myself around 50% in that category. At the end of the day I would be able to add each category up and get an ending percentage for the day. At the end of the week I would be able to add up all the final day percentages and see how I did for the week.
I was very surprised to see that I was only living at 60% of my potential in these areas. I have been able to get the percentages up to 80% and am amazed at the results. I am a pretty healthy person yet I never knew how much healthier I could be. Actually taking a closer calculated look at these 8 principles has really given me a boost in my health and fitness.
