Create Abundance by Being Grateful

Article by Zhang Xinyue

A grateful heart is a heart filled with joy. And all of us could find something to be grateful for. Do you have two legs that work? Or two arms with hands? Do you have a brain that can think? The older Chinese philosophers taught people to be thankful for every little thing. It’s easy to forget some of those blessings in our lives. Do you have food to eat? A warm bed to sleep in? Do you have a family? There are so many people around the world who do not have those things.

A grateful heart is a healthy heart. Proverbs 17:22 says:

“A merry heart does good, like medicine,
But a broken spirit dries the bones.”

The writer has discovered something incredible that we all need to be reminded of. When our hearts are filled with joy, gratitude and peace, then our lives literally glow with goodness. But if we are unthankful and angry … if we have a negative spirit, it dries up the bones.

Practice Gratefulness

The underlying message could even be interpreted that being grateful will result in better health, while being angry, unforgiving and resentful can lead to illness. That’s a lesson that we all must learn. Regardless of where you are in life right now or what’s going on, find some things to be grateful for. Rejoice and be glad! Don’t be overcome with negative thoughts. Let go of anger and find peace and rest for your soul. This is the path to create true abundance in your life.
