Sasha Bakhru: Stem Cell Researcher Extraordinaire

Author bio: Guest post was written by Sasha Bakhru, a major researcher of stem cells.  In order to learn more information about his work, check out his official website.

Sasha Bakhru is essential to the fields of science and medicine today.  He has various jobs and roles that allow him to make contributions to these crucial fields.  Sasha Bakhru completed his graduate studies in biomedical engineering and mechanical engineering.  He specialized in materials science and as a student he explored the fundamentals of the design of materials as well as the fabrication.  He also spent a lot of time studying tissue engineering.

One of Bakhru’s jobs is working as an adjunct assistant professor of medical science at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.  In addition, Bakhru co-founded a specialty pharmaceuticals company named Perosphere Inc.  He works as both the VP and the CTO of the company.  Perosphere has various goals in mind.  Essentially they want to change and upgrade drug designs for “rescue drugs.”  Their main aim is to transform the way drugs are distributed.  They have attained plenty of patents on their products and currently have numerous pending patents on their exceptional drug delivery technology.

Apart from the field of pharmaceuticals, Bakhru is making progress for the field of stem cell research.  Bakhru has gained insight into the use of stem cells through his research on rat stem cells.  Through the encapsulation of neutral rat stem cells, Bakhru found that there was a strong influence that functionalized 3D microenvironments have on substrate-adherent, pluripotent cells.  This important research is awaiting publication.

Bakhru continues to do important research that will help change the fields of biomedicine indefinitely.
